The box has been switched off for a month now with no sign of returning, so did OfCom finally do their job and order a cooling off period... well surely it would have been better to leave the repeater operational and actually GO OUT AND CATCH THE ABUSERS?!
It now seems the idiots have moved to the other local repeaters. The abuse, swearing and croaky voices have so far been regularly heard on:

It is truly unbelievable that the abuse could have carried on for the duration of time that it has without some kind of action from the authorites and it appears to indicate OfCom are but a far cry from the former Radio Investigation Service who actually got the job done by going out and catching these idiots in the act.
Just Friday 8th October morning PAUL G8JGF was heard arguing with a foul-mouthed cretin on GB3IN who threatened Paul with all manner of violence and goaded him to drive to Alport Heights for a fight. But instead of ignoring it as his license conditions state Paul repeatedly threatened him back and returned the abuse and their exchanges continued for over 15 minutes. Paul was heard shortly afterwards on the same repeater using the D-STAR mode talking to G0IZL asserting how 'hard' he is and boasting about what he would do to the abuser.

I have often heard g8jgf, and a licence holder from mansfield colin and numerous others misusing their licences by arranging to meet up with the abusers and fighting them, yes i agree the idiots involved deserve a ruddy good hiding but, not on air

But in all honesty i wouldn't take much notice of anything they say, i think it is safe to say that nobody else really does as it is common knowledge they are quick to point fingers and call out peoples names on air with no evidence or proof to back their claims up, hence they are seen as empty vessels who shout the loudest but say nothing of any substance.
There are a group of operators from this area who are very cliquey and behave in snide ways to discourage people they consider as outsiders from 'their' hobby.
I hope at some point in the near future these false accusers meet face to face with the people whos names they use in a slanderous way because i suspect on that day there will be a whole lot of apologising and back-tracking going on.

I have heard on VERY good authority that they are moving closer to catching the culprit now he is abusing other repeaters. I did actually overhear someone saying they would "Knock Him The FUCK Out!!!" when they catch him.

I hope dy does come back on and the whole things starts again and i can listen to dopey colin proclaiming how hard he is in his stuttering dribbling accent. far bloody better then watching t.v or finding something to do in the garden in my retirement days. They should give them , there own show
